Enjoyed the piece – have thought many times when reading those NYT pieces, or comparable ones in the FT, of doing a parody, but I’m afraid it might be too crude to print.

Hi Joel — My first draft was quite a bit “sharper.” Then my editor and I thought better of the tone and reworked the text to soften it a bit. Those NYT pieces are certainly just ripe for parody!
